Pseudoscience & opinions presented as fact。In the first chapter the author describes a study of the Hadza people that concluded that they burn approximately the same amount of calories as modern office workers。 He then claims that this is due to inflammation being higher in modern people due to diet / lifestyle / etc。 This was presented as fact and the implication was that it had also been concluded by the same study。 I thought this was interesting and took a look at what I could find online。 In Pseudoscience & opinions presented as fact。In the first chapter the author describes a study of the Hadza people that concluded that they burn approximately the same amount of calories as modern office workers。 He then claims that this is due to inflammation being higher in modern people due to diet / lifestyle / etc。 This was presented as fact and the implication was that it had also been concluded by the same study。 I thought this was interesting and took a look at what I could find online。 In fact, the study made no claims about the lower caloric needs of the Hadza people being due to inflammation。 I tried to find anything supporting this claim, but could not。 It seems to me that it is completely unsubstantiated (correct me if I am wrong。。。)。After that I kept reading, albeit taking everything with a shaker of salt。 Generally, it seems that it is a thinly veiled attempt to sell expensive supplements which the author advices in the book and sells on his website。 The book itself is a constant stream of misleading and unsubstantiated claims presented as fact。I have a good deal of fatigue and wanted to like this book。 I think there is a lot to be said to the impact of diet on fatigue。 That said, I felt that I could not trust anything in this book and was thus disappointed。 。。。more

I think Dr Gundry got it wrong。 It's not lectins the problems (or the microbiome or LPS), these things indirectly cause symptoms because they feed and re-activate previous virus in susceptible individuals。 Multiple diets work in suppressing mysterious autoimmune symptoms。。。。AIP, lectin avoidance diet, carnivore ecc。 He is against meat but a full carnivore diet confer the same benefits。。。。it put the symptoms of brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, rashes, nerve pain ecc into remission。。。I'm talking fr I think Dr Gundry got it wrong。 It's not lectins the problems (or the microbiome or LPS), these things indirectly cause symptoms because they feed and re-activate previous virus in susceptible individuals。 Multiple diets work in suppressing mysterious autoimmune symptoms。。。。AIP, lectin avoidance diet, carnivore ecc。 He is against meat but a full carnivore diet confer the same benefits。。。。it put the symptoms of brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, rashes, nerve pain ecc into remission。。。I'm talking from first hand experience here because I personally tried those diet。 I also got results with the Plant Paradox diet tho。。。。the common aspect is that they eliminate the same foods。。。。grains, processed foods, most dairy, sugar, nightshades, nuts, seeds, junk food。 I mean let's look at people who have long term complications from Covid。。。these people have the same exact symptoms many of us have。。。brain fog, fatigue, neuropathy, systemic inflammation, anxiety, joint pain ecc。 Don't you see a relationship here? People with other viruses such as hepatitis C, herpex (various strains), EBV also have the same symptoms。 People with chronic fatigue syndrome actually improve when they get on antivirals such as Valganciclovir。 This tells me lectins and other foods are a problem because they indirectly either feed or reactivate those dormant virus in susceptible individuals。 Many people carry those virus but probably some of us have some genes that make our immune system less able to control them。 If lectins where really the root cause then why I could eat them without problems for 30 years? Out of the blue my immune system get confused? Why he didn't get confused with molecular mimicry before? And why in other healthy people it doesn't get confused? Seem really weird to me。 If lectins were a problem and causes leaky gut ecc everybody should have the same symptoms but we don't。 And so many people have toxic microbiome (much worse than mine/ours) and don't experience symptoms。 I actually had a stool analysis (the most cutting edge one) and my microbiome is actually much better than the average person。 I don't have any dysbiosis or bad bacteria。 How about viruses? I don't know because viruses go dormant in tissues outside the gut and burrow deep inside them so we can't run a test to see if they are active。 And by the way many people walk around with a leaky gut but don't experience any symptom whatsoever。 My brother had the same test I did, he has higher values for zonulin (mine are very low) in blood but no symptom whatsoever。 Keep eating pizza, sugar, beer everyday without any problem。 And I bet there are many more people like him walking around。。。。I think almost everybody have some level of leaky gut these days。 Anyway I believe the advise in the book are correct and people with mysterious symptoms will benefit from them but I don't agree with the explanation of why we get better。 The author thinks it's because lectins are the underlying cause of the problem, meanwhile I think there is a third variable that is correlated with lectins and our symptoms (ie virus that feed/get reactivated)。 It's a perfect example of correlation doesn't mean causation。。。。the fact that the lectins diet improves our symptoms doesn't mean it's the root cause。 Anyway, definitely better than conventional medicine。 The average doctor out there have no idea why we have these symptoms and doesn't even believe food can put them into remission。 They are a huge waste of money and time for our chronic mysterious illness。 At least the advice in this book works (although I believe they work for reasons the author hasn't found out yet)。 。。。more

Another good book by Dr。 Gundry。 Plenty of Gundryisms and a few new things (postbiotics) and how the SAD messes with your mitochondria。

Lost all credibility when he warned his readers about the dangers of 5G。

This might work but I will never know because I am not cutting out all dairy, grains, and legumes。 Many vegetable are also forbidden and fruit is to be limited to no more than one piece a week and only if it is in season。 The ultimate goal is to eat only one meal a day and within a single two-hour period。 Naturally, the author has his own line of supplements and bars that are recommended。

3。5 starsFor those familiar with Gundry's work and lifestyle plans, this latest will reiterate many of the previous principles and foods dos and don'ts, while offering an extended road map to "get healthy" and regain your energy。 It is not for the faint of heart as this develops an intermittent fasting regiment on top of the healthy eating choices。 What I gained most from the read was a clearer understanding of how important it is to create a food plan that benefits your specific body。。。 and how 3。5 starsFor those familiar with Gundry's work and lifestyle plans, this latest will reiterate many of the previous principles and foods dos and don'ts, while offering an extended road map to "get healthy" and regain your energy。 It is not for the faint of heart as this develops an intermittent fasting regiment on top of the healthy eating choices。 What I gained most from the read was a clearer understanding of how important it is to create a food plan that benefits your specific body。。。 and how detrimental and ultimately harmful many of the food plan fads can be to your long-term health and longevity strategy - like Ketogenic, Paleo and carnivore diets。 You can use this guide as a starting road map to build your own trip。 But be careful not to fall prey to all the hype out there on specific diets that remove all types of foods, and extreme fasting that can lead to complete insulin resistance and disordered eating。 Balance leads to harmony。 。。。more
